"This composition's initial goal was to integrate the CD "Arte pela Paz "(Art for peace). Inspired by the dance movement of the waters, represented by the arpeggios of the left hand, this piece is written for solo piano."

Flor (Flower)
"When I wrote this piece in 2005, I was thinking about those situations when we feel displaced outside of our natural habitat. When we are aligned with our true nature, we are like the flower, that being in its garden, is even more beautiful. "
Origens - Dança de Negros I
(Origins - Negro Dance I)

The Negro Dance I "Origins" was composed in September 1998, to be used as an encore in my first recital at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. The name Origins, refers to the Afro culture that contributed to the enrichment of the Brazilian music rhythm. This piece was dedicated to my piano teacher at the time: Ney Fialkow
Dança da Terra (Earth Dance)
"The Earth Dance was composed in Porto Alegre - RS, in 2007, to be part of a CD with my compositions. I used themes from 2 Negro Dances that I composed in 2004: the Negro Dance V (for recorder and piano) and the Negro Dance VI (for clarinet, cello and piano), both were performed that year, as encores of chamber music recitals. The CD did not come out, but it inspired the creation of this piece that I have performed in several recitals. "
Sonho Primaveril (Spring Dream)

Sonho Primaveril (Spring Dream) was my first piano composition. I wrote it when I was 9, in the first year of the piano course. At the time I loved to play the A. Schmoll Piano Method pieces, and this composition was certainly influenced by it.
Piano
Andante em Lá Menor (Andante in Lá Minor)

I composed this piece at age 11. All the pieces I wrote in childhood explore the technical resources I learned during the piano lessons. In this composition, I explore the left hand’s arpeggios.
Piano
Pirâmide Vermelha (Red Pyramid)

As a teenager, I had a small red pyramid at home as a decorative object. I had the idea of doing an experiment: staring at that pyramid for a while to see if it would inspire me with a new composition. And it worked! This is how this piece came about.
Piano
Últimas Energias (Latest Energies)

I wrote this piece in November 1995. At this time of year, as a high school student, my energies were already running out! The beginning of the piece, in a minor key, expresses well what I was feeling. The next theme, in Major key, is an attempt of self-motivation that ends up overcome by fatigue.
Piano
Passeando no Bosque (Strolling in the Woods)

I composed this piece when I was a student at the Curitiba Music Festival in early 1996. When I played it, it reminded me of the little woods at home, which was almost 500 miles away.
Piano
Mistérios da Casa 325 (Mysteries of the House 325)

In 1997, I was preparing myself for the music practice test to enter university and needed to improve my skills in solfege. Then I wrote a melody to use as a vocal exercise, but when I finished the first line, I decided to try it on the violin and as a result I wrote a solo violin study. Thinking of turning the study into a violin and piano piece, this solo piano version ended up being born. The title came years later, but connects the music to the house where I lived at the time.
Piano
Um Ser Semelhante (A Similar Being)

I wrote this piece at the age of 14, influenced by the romantic melodies performed by famous French pianist Richard Clayderman. I remember hearing the pianist's LPs at my piano teacher's house at the time, Hilda Patschkowski.
Piano
Eu Era... (I Was...)

I wrote this piece at the age of twelve. It represents the conversation between two children. At the beginning of the song, a boy tells about the difficulties he has faced. He is then comforted by his friend on the second theme of the music and by reexposing his situation, he already feels more confident about his future.
Piano
Livro dos Sonhos (Dream Book)

At thirteen years old, I dreamed of composing an opera! I wrote several short songs that would be used as soundtracks about an enchanted book. Even if I was help by a cousin to develop ideas and write scores - at that time I had a considerable difficulty on reading music, the challenge was too big!
In 2018, I used one of this soundtracks to create a didactic piece for piano 4 hands written for the XVII Cora Pavan Capparelli Piano Competition, held in Uberlândia/MG/Brazil.
Piano
Melos (Greek: melody)

I composed this melody in 1999 and remember that I use to play it as soundtrack of baptisms at the Lutheran Churches where I worked as an organist. Another time, it also served as opening song for the performances of a CTG (South Brazil Traditions Center) group in which I worked as a violinist.
In 2019, I used the song for the creation of a piece for piano 4 hands written for the XVII Cora Pavan Capparelli Piano Competition, held in Uberlândia/MG/Brazil.
Piano
As Três Vias (The Three Paths)

I composed this piece in September 2000. It was performed with the title "Brazilian style essay " at a Christmas Concert that same year by a Camerata formed with students and colleagues.
In 2003 I wrote an extended version for string trio and classical guitar. With new name and instrumentation, this song integrates the CD "Art for Peace", released in 2005.
In 2018, I wrote a new version, this time for piano 4 hands. It was written for the XVII Cora Pavan Capparelli Piano Competition, held in Uberlândia/MG/Brazil.

Dança de Negros III (Negro Dance III – for piano 4 hands)

I wrote the Negro Dance III in August 2003. In 2005, I added an introduction that I called Lamento (Elegy). It was performed in several recitals of Brazilian chamber music that year, in duo with the cellist Rodrigo Alquati.
In 2018, I wrote this piano 4 hands version for the XVII Cora Pavan Capparelli Piano Competition, held in Uberlândia / MG/Brazil.

Planeta Azul (Blue Planet)

I wrote this piece in 1999. It was originally conceived as a song to perform with a friend at the Musicians' Party in my hometown. However, no lyrics came up for this song, so I ended up creating a solo piano version. Blue Planet is the first track of the CD Arte Pela Paz (Art For Peace), released in 2005.
In March 2019, I created a new extended version of the piece.
Piano
Zodíaco (Zodiac)

It all started on my first day of piano classes, at age 9... at the teacher's house door, her first question was: what's your zodiac sign? I said: Sagittarius. And she: IIh, Sagittarius is not good for music! After a while in silence, she looked at my hands and said: but the fingers are long, maybe you can play. She used to say that the best zodiac sign for music was Taurus: her sign!
This piqued my interest in astrology.
In this cycle, I have tried to portray the way I perceive the temperament of each zodiac sign. For the construction of the cycle, I used the classification of signs according to the 4 elements: Fire, Earth, Air and Water. For each element I used a theme that I developed in different ways in the signs of each element.
The complete cycle is approximately 30 minutes long.It was written between May and November 2019.
Perto do Céu - Prelúdio e Dança (Near Heaven - Prelude and Dance)

In the beginning of 2018, I had to move away from my professional activities because of respiratory and muscle problems. Only in April 2019 did I begin to feel better and was inspired to write this piece. Near Heaven is formed by an expressive prelude, followed by a technically challenging dance.

If you like my compositions and would like to collaborate so I can write more piano pieces, feel free to contribute:
